Age Restriction & Parental Consent

1. Minimum Age Requirements

To create a LinguaPath account, you must meet the minimum age requirement for your region:

• Most countries: 13 years old
• European Union/EEA: 16 years old (or as specified by your country under GDPR)
• South Korea: 14 years old

If you are below the minimum age for your region, you must have verifiable parental or guardian consent to use LinguaPath.

2. Parental Consent for Minors

If you are under 18 years old (or the age of majority in your country), you confirm that:

• You have permission from a parent or guardian to use LinguaPath
• Your parent or guardian has read and agrees to these terms on your behalf
• Your parent or guardian is responsible for any purchases made on your account

3. How Parents Can Manage Their Child's Account

Parents or guardians can:

• Request Data Access: Get a copy of all data we hold about your child
• Request Data Deletion: Have your child's account and data permanently deleted
• Monitor Progress: Your child can share their login to allow you to view progress
• Contact Support: Raise any concerns about your child's use of the platform

4. Child Safety Measures

LinguaPath is committed to child safety. We:

• Do not show targeted advertising to any users, especially children
• Do not sell data to third parties for marketing purposes
• Do not have social features that allow users to communicate with each other
• Use age-appropriate content - our lessons are designed for general audiences
• Limit data collection to what is necessary for the learning experience

5. What We Collect From Young Users

For users under 18, we collect:

• Email address (required for account)
• Name (optional, used for certificates)
• Learning progress and assessment scores
• Basic device/browser information for functionality

We do NOT collect:

• Precise location data
• Phone numbers
• Photos or videos
• Social media profiles
• Information about friends or family

6. Payments by Minors

If you are under 18, you should not make purchases without permission from a parent or guardian who is the account holder of the payment method being used.

Parents are responsible for supervising their child's use of the platform and any purchases made.

7. If We Discover Underage Use

If we learn that a user is below the minimum age and does not have parental consent, we will:

• Suspend the account pending verification
• Attempt to contact the email on file
• Delete the account and associated data if consent cannot be verified
